By attending the Building Your Dream Private Practice workshop, you will learn marketing techniques and business-building skills you can apply now. You will energize your work and develop a plan for success.
Participants will learn the basics of an ethical, service-based social work practice, how to network to enhance knowledge of community resources, how to write and place effective articles in the media, the importance of getting involved with professional organizations, how to partner with Managed Care Organizations and EAP’s and how to effectively build relationships that become referral sources.
Participants will leave with a clear understanding of their business vision and how to convey what they do best as therapists in order to create public awareness of clinical social work services and build successful practices.

In Managing Your Dream Private Practice we have brought together three professionals in the field of psychotherapy practice management. Whether you are experienced or just beginning, you will find this workshop right on target.
Ethical Decision Making for Clinicians: Participants will be exposed to ethical theory, values, principles and rules. They will learn how the values of traditional biomedical ethics integrate with core social work values, resolving ethical dilemmas, identifying common “trouble spots” for clinicians and how to resolve them.
Protecting Your Practice from Legal Pitfalls: Participants will learn the basics of licensing regulations in the state of New Jersey, the rules of confidentiality and privilege, HIPAA compliance, waivers of confidentiality and the regulations concerning the code of conduct for social workers. The presenter will give examples of wrongful disclosure of client confidences and compelled testimony.
Sound Financial Practices for Therapists: Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to: establish the proper business entity, choose an accounting method, track income and expenses, and file taxes with maximum efficiency. Upon completing this portion of the workshop participants will be better prepared to conduct their practices while upholding ethical financial principles.
